AJ Davis heading to Buford, Walton OL to The Citadel

Ohio State may have thought better late than never, but North Gwinnett’s Jordan Washington didn’t share that outlook as the defensive lineman pledged to the Bulldogs of Mississippi State late last week. Camden County 2013 quarterback Brice Ramsey has been receiving plenty of attention from recruiters from all across the country but two SEC East offensive coordinators visited the Georgia pledge recently. According to Michael Carvell, Ramsey was visited by Charlie Weis of Florida and Georgia’s Mike Bobo last week. Ramsey committed to Georgia back in July. ...

Banneker DB Chaz Elder put off declaring his college decision in August as he wanted to make the right choice for him. At the time he was deciding between Georgia and South Carolina. A third team may have entered the field as well as rumors have started to circulate that Elder has put one team back as a finalist. Elder had LSU and Clemson on his list back in June. He has unofficially visited several schools but will likely make “official visits,” before he commits. .

.. On the basketball court, recruiters looking for former Greater Atlanta Christian standout AJ Davis should just head to his sister’s school as Davis has joined Kaela at Buford. The 6-foot-7 junior recently withdrew from GAC and is now at Buford. Davis helped GAC win the last two GHSA Class AA titles, beating Buford in the finals one year ago. Davis is one of the nation’s top prospects for 2013 and joins PF T.J. Shipes, who pledged to Georgia State last week. Kaela Davis has given Tennessee her verbal commitment. Both are the children of former NBA player Antonio Davis. ...

Walton offensive lineman Harrison Davis decided to pledge to The Citadel.
