One year later Norcross entered its game with North Gwinnett 5-0, and both teams are eyeing the Region 7-AAAAA title. Norcross used two non-offensive touchdowns to jump out to a 22-0 lead early in the third quarter. Anthony Autry gave Norcross the early lead with an 81-yard catch and run, then after a field goal Myles Autry returned a punt 52 yards for a score. Norcross looked like it was going to roll to a victory after returning a fumble 55 yards then recovering another fumble to put North Gwinnett in a hole. North Gwinnett intercepted a pass deep in its own territory to stave off a game-clinching score for Norcross. Score 44 member Scott Hosch plunged into the endzone to put North Gwinnett on the board with ninety seconds left in the third quarter.
Norcross would stop North Gwinnett on fourth-and-goal but then give the ball right back on an Alvin Kamara fumble. Justin Thomas returned the fumble ten yards for a score to pull the Bulldogs to within eight. Another Norcross fumble gave North Gwinnett a chance to tie the game. Senior Joe Jones would reach the endzone with 2:09 to play and Hosch would hit Russell King on the two-point conversion to tie the game. Donnie Miles hobbled back onto the field after suffering an ankle injury earlier in the game and would step in front of Blue Devils receiver Jason Croom for an interception to set up another Jones score with 16 seconds left, giving North Gwinnett a comeback 29-22 victory. Not even a power outage late in the contest could stop the Bulldogs comeback as North Gwinnett improved to 5-1.
