Welcome to positive week at SBF

In honor of SAY-Ra coming down for a visit and the Redskins game, I've decided to declare this positive week. I will force myself to have a positive attitude all week and be generally happy about everything. No complaining, no whining, nothing. (This might be tough considering I'm going to the Georgia game this weekend...) But let's see! Forget your troubles, come on get happy!

As for my thoughts from the weekend of football....
I didn't get to see the Georgia game as it was on PPV, but I did listen to a bit of it while heading to the airport to pick up Ross and Sara and it sounded like Georgia knew what was going on. The defense had two tackles for losses and a sack in the short time I was listening and Washaun Ealey had a nice run from the WoooooooHooooooooo I could make out from Scott Howard. (Remember to be positive. Not mocking....) Sounded like a big play!
I saw the highlights on the Mark Richt show and that Branden Smith looks WAYYYYY better running the WildDawg than Logan Gray; he just looks quicker and shiftier. Perhaps that is something we can use a bit more in the next few games. And the defense, with a shutout, came to play. True it was against Tenn Tech, but still, a shutout is a shutout, especially with all of those true frosh playing out there.
Bottom line, this Georgia team could conceivably beat Auburn and UK to go 7-4 entering the Tech game. CMR usually plays well on the road, and Tech looked beatable against Wake, so maybe the Dawgs can restore order in that series and get to the Outback Bowl afterall. One can hope, especially on POSITIVE week RIGHT?

Speaking of Tech, what guts from CPJ, though you have to go up to Grobe and put your arm around him and say, "Jimmy, why in the world did you guys jump?" Oh well. Tech seriously does have an offense that WILL WIN any close game. If they fall behind, I think it is over for them, (unless you let them back into the game with turnovers) but if they are close or have a lead, they are not losing. PERIOD. Nesbitt and Dwyer are too good in that offense. It will take those two vamoosing for anything to change. Seriously. Those guys are that good in that system.

Any chance that Tech has to lose before the Orange Bowl will come either from Georgia or from Clemson. The Tigers nearly had the Yellow Jackets on the flats earlier this season and it seems they are really clicking now. Dabo will have to protect from his team dropping the game it shouldn't, but if they make it to the ACCCG, Tech could be in a little bit of trouble. Clemson has the offense to keep up and the defense that has enough players that they could make a play...especially if the kicker doesn't throw a TD pass. Clemson may make good on my promise of a turnaround under Dabo.

Florida and Bama are now locked into the SECCG, can't wait for the first weekend of December for the defacto BCSNC play-in game.

UVa looked like it had a shot for a while in Miami, but alas, they came up short. Daddio may get his wish sooner rather than later.

Finally, sorry Cake, but Penn State lost to Ohio State. Factor in that Iowa lost to Northwestern and now that Iowa/Ohio State game is for the Rose Bowl. I was really hoping that Penn State could beat tOSU so that the Buckeyes wouldn't be in a BCS Bowl with Iowa and PSU in them instead, but ...(wait this isn't positive. Hmmm) Well Maybe Penn State will still go to the Capital One Bowl.... That's a good bowl.

Oh, and Kudos to Navy. Way to knock off Notre Dame, though that could be the end of Charlie Weis. No more fupa jokes....booooooo! But that might be a positive for Notre Dame.

Have a POSITIVE rest of the week everybody!
