Hey, Hawks, the deadline to deal JJ is in two days!

Let's deal him already!

Paul Mac aka the Sports Deacon, agrees with me and thinks the Hawks should ship Joe Johnson out of Atlanta and sent me something he found on cnnsi:
The King is not the only free agent-to-be who the Knicks may land this off-season. If the Knicks lose out on LeBron James, their consolation prize could be Atlanta's Joe Johnson. And that would be just fine with Johnson, who says he would surely make a free-agent visit to the Knicks because of his great relationship with Mike D'Antoni, who coached him in Phoenix. "I got even something better to focus on right now with Atlanta, trying to finish off the season well," Johnson told The Post after the All-Star Game. "[Mike and I] have got a great relationship.

Paul thinks that the Hawks brass should "Seriously, Trade him and Marvin… see if you can’t get CB4 and possibly someone to handle the ball that shoots better than Bibby."

I agree with P-Did and have said as much two straight Sundays on Score Atlanta Sports Sunday on 790 The Zone. Really, the dude is dropping more hints than a 37-year-old with a ticking biological clock. Johnson is GONE after the season. Why not get something for him now opposed to ZERO when he leaves? And even if you acquire a free-agent-to-be, maybe you have a better shot at resigning him! And if that guy leaves too, well then you're in the SAME BOAT YOU ARE NOW!

And for all of the hawks homers/apologists out there that say "oh you'll hurt the chemistry!" ummm, I think I'll break up the chemistry of a team that has ZERO shot at advancing past the second round, thank you. take a shot at least. Pull an Ole Miss! This team, as it is currently constructed is Ole Miss under Cutcliff aka at their glass ceiling. Roll the dice! It didn't work for the Rebels until they hired Houston Nutt but maybe it WILL work for the Hawks.

Or we could see an acid reflux of Dekembe to Philly for Theo....shudder. But Honestly, Joe is GONE after this year. He is. And just because you CAN sign him to 18M/season DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD. He didn't want the VERY generous 4/60M, I say PEACE.
