Big B breaks down the ACC recruiting classes to date

Big B Brian Jones breaks out a top ten list every Monday Night on Score Atlanta's The Official Visit (from 7:30-10 pm) on Sports Radio 790 the Zone. For more of Big B, tune in this Sunday from 1-4.

12) N.C. State: Seven guys committed to date. According to Rivals, the Wofpack don’t have a single four-star commit. Massachusetts running back Anthony Knight is a big physical back and NC athlete Juston Burris is a quality prospect as well;

11) Wake Forest: Nine commitments on board, also without a four-star guy. Florida OL Cody Preble and Florida DB Allen Ramsey lead the class;

10) Duke: Cutcliffe has done a masterful job at Duke, and currently has 23 guys committed in the Class of 2011. From Georgia, Duke has commitments from Westlake’s Chris Tavarez, Flowery Branch kicker Will Monday, and Stephenson DB Jared Boyd;

9) Boston College: Just 12 commitments thus far, but Connecticut linebacker Graham Stewart is a very impressive looking prospect and Massachusetts TE Brian Miller and NY DE Kieran Borcich are top recruits in their own right;

8) Georgia Tech: 14 commitments, including big ones from Darrius Caldwell, Jeff Greene, Jabir Hunt-Days, Chris Milton and Vad Lee;

7) Virginia Tech: Beamer has 12 guys committed, including seven from Virginia. The class is led by Indiana DT Kris Harley and Virginia DE Corey Marshall. Should be behind Georgia Tech;

6) Miami: The Hurricanes have just eight commitments, though they are from talented guys. The class is led by Teddy Bridgewater and DE Anthony Chickillo. Also, commitments from Albert Louis-Jean and WR Phillip Dorsett;

5) Maryland: The Terps have an impressive 17 commitments, but just one from a four-star prospect and that’s Virginia OL Nathaniel Clarke. Lacks great quality;

4) Virginia: Another big class, already 21 men, but a mediocre one. Only two headline recruits, and they are Maryland athlete Brandon Phelps and Virginia RB Clifton Richardson;

3) North Carolina: 17 commitments, 10 from NC. Top OL class with Landon Turner, Jarrod James, and Kiaro Holts, all top at their position,, and T.J. Thorpe is among the top athletes in NC as well;

2) Clemson: 18 guys on board, including top offensive stars such as Marlin Lane, Mike Bellamy, WRs Martavis Bryant and Charone Peake, Shaq Anthony, and leading for the likes of Jadeveon Clowney, Tony Steward and Sammy Watkins;

1) Florida State: 15 commitments including two five-star guys in James Wilder and Karlos Williams. Wilder looks weaker than I thought, though. Also love Terrance Smith, Tyler Hunter, Rashad Greene and Bobby Hart.
