Paul Mac goes political!

I posed this question to our resident political correspondent Paul Mac and wouldn't you know, Sleazy P was quick with an answer.

SBF: Over the past few years, it became quite the political statement for players of a championship team to boycott the team trip to the White House. Players would think that Bush would give a crap about the player's anger over the war in Iraq leading to him/her boycotting the trip. But last time I checked the war is still going on. Thus my question, Paul. Do we think that if a player boycotts going to the White House with obama as prez, that person will be seen as a racist? I think that they will still be "making a political statement" but some of the player's teammates will see that person as racist. Again, when bush was in office, it was viewed as a political statement, but I imagine it might be twisted as racist if someone tries to do it now. Your thoughts....

Sleazy P: Depends on the ethnicity of said person but yes of course, because even the media lacks the understanding of what that term means.
There really is no point in boycotting the presidential visit, you're only going to bring yourself negative press, you could take the moment to tell the guy in person exactly what you don't like... that's what I'd do anyway.

SBF: Thanks Paul. You Sir, though, are a reasonable person.

Sleazy P: And in that stead... am I the only one who finds it slightly hilarious that the UAW workers from Chrysler's comments (per interviews from FREEP) are... and I'm not making this up. "I can't believe it has come to this."
REALLY! SERIOUSLY? DO they live under rocks in Michigan?

That was Paul "Sleazy P" Mac getting political. Did you like it? Want some more? Just you wait. Paul Mac is JUST GETTING STARTED on Sportsbyfletch. Check back for his weekly rantings and if Sportsbyfletch editor Fletcher DOES contract Swine Flu and it turns out to be more than just a dimeatapable fix, Paul Mac has agreed to take over.
