Brian Jones of Score Atlanta fame provides his top ten players of who have improved their stock and may soon get a big-time offer. This list debuted last night on Score Atlanta's The Official Visit on 790 The Zone.
10) Kyle Vorster: 5-11, 185-pound RB out of Walton. Carried the ball 29 times for 185 yards and two scores last week. I’d actually have Bradely Kilgore here, instead. But Vorster has good size, and I think has good sudden speed, but I’m not sure he does anything well enough just yet. No offers yet;
9) Timmy Byerly: 6-1, 202-pound QB out of Chattahoochee. He has been great for the undefeated Hooch. Quick release, good accuracy, and willingness to stand in the pocket. Sudden speed and good running ability. Offers from Air Force and Furman;
8) Bashr Coles: 6-0, 175-pound RB out of Tucker. Has an offer from Illinois State, talking to UCF, Maryland, Middle Tenn. State, and Georgia Southern. Versatile, catches well, and is a very physical runner with quick feet. Not very shifty, but runs hard and is fast to the hole;
7) Kyle Karempelis: 5-10, 170-pound RB out of Wesleyan. No offers to date, but is hearing from Samford. Kid can do a lot outside of RB. Special teams, kick returns, should hear from Georgia State;
6) Marcus Caffey: 6-0, 191-pound RB out of Grady. Offers from Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Purdue and South Carolina. Waiting on a Georgia offer. Big, physical back with great speed. He will really improve his stock in UGA offers;
5) Dustin Christian: 5-9, 170-pound back out of Calhoun. Offers from Chattanooga, East Carolina, Southern Miss and Western Carolina. Has great speed and change-of-direction skills. A really dangerous player with great cutting ability and overall explosion. Size is a big question mark;
4) Kane Whitehurst: 6-0, 175-pound out of Chattahoochee. Haven’t seen him live this year, but he shows tremendous speed and good open-field moves on film. Has good size, can return punts and is deadly on kickoffs. Has an offer from Appalachian State;
3) Demarco Robinson: 5-10, 170-pound WR out of M.L. King. Offers from Louisville, Marshall, Minnesota and will soon have one from Georgia. Doesn’t have great size, but he is lightning fast. Just blazing speed and dynamic with the ball. Reminds me a big of Tavares King;
2) Ralph David Abernathy: 5-6, 153-pound back out of Westminster. Has offers from Air Force, Cincinnati and Mississippi. Will remind most of Ean Pemberton, but I think he is a better college prospect. He is more solid and physical. Tremendous speed, quickness and balance. Catches well out of the backfield, and isn’t too skinny;
1) Taylor Heinicke: 6-1, 185-pound QB out of Collins Hill. Good athlete with an accurate arm. Still has no offers, which to me is not a great sign. What more can he do?
