It has come to Sportsbyfletch's attention that one of our faithful readers has been inducted into his alma mater's hall of fame. Congrats go out to Jimmy Miner as he was named to the 2009 Class for the Wofford Hall of Fame. Check out his bio from the Wofford page on the SoCon website.
Jimmy Miner ‘04
A four-time All-Southern Conference punter, Jimmy Miner earned honorable mention All-America honors in 2002. He led the Terriers in punting in all four seasons and is the all-time leader inn punting average at 40.9 yards per punt. As a senior in 2003, he was second in the conference and seventh nationally in net punting with a 38.2 average. During his junior season he was twelfth nationally with a 42.2 average and had twelve punts of 50 or more yards. In 2001, he was named first team All-Southern Conference, leading the league with a 42.0 average that was also eighth nationally. A native of Kennesaw, Georgia, he went to training camp in 2004 with the St. Louis Rams.
Kudos Big Guy and the next time I see you, I'll buy you a drink. Wait, you are in the hall of fame. Let's head up to Wofford where I'm sure the drinks will all be free!
Now if ONLY we could get Josh Cole in the Furman Hall of Fame. He WAS after all No.1 in all of our hearts....
