Georgia Tech bringing in the prospects

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have several spots left in its 2012 recruiting class but one race to keep an eye on is Tech’s last spot for running back. Several recruitniks believe that Miles Jones of Allatoona is a big-time target for Paul Johnson to slid in at A-Back but recently Liberty County’s Shadrach Thornton was on hand Saturday to watch the Jackets beat Clemson. Thornton committed to Kentucky last month but has since made trips to NC State and now Georgia Tech, leading some to believe that Thornton is the new No. 1 candidate with Jones serving as a fall-back. ...

Archer is closing in on its first-ever playoff berth and two-way standout Jermaine Morris is a big reason why. The running back/defensive end has pledged to the Georgia Southern program to play at the next level, likely as an end. According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, Morris has five sacks on the season. ...

Miller Grove basketball star Tony Parker made an official visit to Duke over the weekend. Coach K has seemingly locked in on Parker, who would likely fit in as a 4 or even down in the post for Duke. It was reported that Coach K visited Parker upon Parker’s return from a recent trip to UCLA. ...

Georgia Tech’s new basketball coach Brian Gregory had his biggest recruiting weekend yet last weekend when prospects for the 2012 and 2013 classes were on campus. Shun Williams of On The Radar Hoops reported several top prospects made it to the Flats including Shiloh’s Robert Carter and Tift County’s Austin Pickett.
