....Finally, Baltimore was able to overcome three opponents last Sunday when knocking off New England. The Raves beat the Patriots, the cold conditions and apparently the officials. I’m not saying that there is NBA-like officiating going on in the NFL because the commissioner wants to protect the best teams in the biggest markets, but on that muffed punt in the second quarter? Come on. Even the CBS announcers talked about how the New England special teamer never had control of the ball when falling out of bounds, but after halftime, the controversy wasn’t discussed again. There is the unwritten rule where you don’t criticize the officials but that error was so egregious that it warranted another mention or two.
