Four from Score.....Tim Hudson

Braves pitcher Tim Hudson is trying to come back from tommy john surgery and he managed to give us a few minutes as he is rehabbing the injury.

SportsByFletch: You and your wife are very active in the community with giving back to kids that are less fortunate. What are your plans for the future in terms of community outreach.
Hudson: We’re always really involved with the Make-a-Wish foundation. It’s a big organization we’ve been involved with, gosh, going on about ten years now. The Make-a-Wish and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, we’ve been involved with a bunch, including the golf tournament. We’re forming out own foundation right now, the Hudson Family Foundation.

SBF: What will be the focus of that organization?
TH:It will be geared towards children’s charities, children who are less fortunate due to illness or what-have-you. It’s something that we’ve been passionate about for a long time, children’s charities and children in need. It’s something that long after baseball, we’re going to be passionate about.

SBF: Is there anyway people can go on-line to find out more about how they can help?
TH: Our website is going to be up and going in the next week or so, the Hudson Family Foundation. You can get on there and look up different things that we’ve got going on, a lot of different events that we’ll have. We’ve got a bunch of different fundraisers coming up. We’ll have a lot of things like a concert to raise some money and obviously some golf tournaments and some other little things. We’re going to try to be creative and have some fun.

SBF:I know you are anxious to get out there from the injury. While you are rehabbing from surgery, is it great to be able to come into the clubhouse and hang out with the guys and feel like you are still a part of the team?
TH:Absolutely. Last year was really tough, not being able to dress out with the team and not traveling, so it’s nice to come in and get in my locker and put my uniform on and help pull for these guys.

Thanks Tim! Good luck with the rehab!
