Harder than it should have been...

(That's what she said)

I read last week on yahoo! about a 23 year old guy born with no arms or legs that was preparing for an MMA fight over the weekend in Alabama. Sadly, this kid who suffers from congenital amputation (his arms end above the elbows and his legs stop above the knees) is from Suwanee, GA. Yep, that is where I reside these days. Great I share my town with an MMA fighter that doesn't have arms or legs. Awesome.

As for the fight, the guy lost (no shock there) but the way he lost is what is surprising. His opponent used the strategy of avoidance, only using forearms to keep the "little guy" at bay and the guy WITH legs and arms would only open-hand hit the guy with NO ABILITY to block anything. At NO TIME did the fight with legs ever kick the guy sans limbs.

WHAT THE HECK?

I've seen a UFC fight or two in my life and they are always choking and kicking and hooking and punching. Basically there are no rules (You can pretty much rip a guy's penis off) but this one guy didn't even kick the Venus de Milo ONCE!? COME ON!

I went off on this the other day. In essence, preparing for this fight, you might as well have used an office chair. It blocks the same as this guy. It doesn't fight back.

Are you kidding me? This was a joke and ONLY in Alabama could this have gone down.

What was this guy trying to prove? Oh, that he can be in an MMA fight? was this some sort of Make-A-Wish thing? I wish the guy had NOT taken mercy on him and taught him a lesson. Kick the crap out of him like he was a penguin. All this guy (pussy) that stayed away from him did was make Stretch think that he could compete again. No, you should have kicked the crap out of him to disabuse him of thinking that he might be able to do this again. Hey, you wrestled at Collins Hill. Good For You man. In that sport, you start out sometimes in a grapple. In MMA, you circle around and punches and kicks are thrown.
How did you think you were going to be able to do that? I am not trying to be mean, I really want to know.

This isn't a feel-good story; no, this is a sad tale that should be addressed and we should then forget about it. I wish he had been stomped. That way he won't try this again. I'm not sure if he IS going to try it again, but he should not. Eventually you are going to run into a real fighter (read: NOT A PUSSY) that is going to punt you Gordon Ely-Kelso style.

I tell you, between the Pirate situation (ever hear of throwing the hook ladder off of your boat?) and this no-armed/no-legged MMA fighter (kick him in the face! HE CAN'T BLOCK IT!), common sense is seriously going out of the window. Thank goodness Sportsbyfletch is here to bring it back, one dose at a time.

This article would have been a hell of a lot better if you... you know threw in how you really felt.

Don't hold back, let it all out.
