So Kutner committed suicide. Hmmmm

I knew a suicide was coming, but I didn't think it would come this early on House and I really didn't see it being Kal Penn's Kutner. I figured Taulb would suck on some exaust or Wilson would take some pills, or 13 to OD on her Huntington's meds but Kutner blowing his head off? WOW.

Apparently Penn had asked the producers to be let out of his contract to go and work for the White House, but I really was surprised that they chose to send Kutner out like that. It seems like maybe the writers were trying to shake up the show but I don't think it will work out how they want it to.

Instead of sending Penn's Kutner away to work in India or something like that, they have him kill himself so we can have a Saved by the Bellish PSA at the end? Just weird. Were they trying to prove something there? Are they planning to have Taulb quit and 13 die of Huntingtons and needed to do something with Kutner so they could bring back Cameron and Chase?

The handling of this is just so weird. It seems quick and abrupt and out of the blue. I guess that was the message, but it seems like the writers and producers were put into a corner and they chose to go The OC route and kill off Kutner like Marissa was shown the door. Were they pissed at Penn? After last week's episode with Mos Def, it seemed that maybe House was getting back to the level of Season one and two, but really the effort now just fell flat. The writers need to bring Cameron and Chase back STAT (and if the previews are correct, it looks like Cameron is coming back) because this is just icky right now. Hopefully with Cameron in the picture a love triangle will start with House and Cuddy and Cameron, but that would make this show more Grey's Anatomy than House: season one and that's a shame.

Oh well. Great shows rarely stay great for more than 4 years. That's a shame.
