Buford is loaded with Score44, but could GAC knock 'em off?

One year ago the Buford Wolves did not have a single senior receiver a scholarship offer from a BCS conference school. That did not stop the Wolves however from winning the school’s fourth straight Class AA state title with a victory over Calhoun in the Georgia Dome. Jess Simpson’s 2011 edition has three members of the Score 44 with offers from SEC schools and three other players have already pledged to SEC or ACC schools. Offensive lineman/long snapper Reid Ferguson will head to Baton Rouge to suit up for Les Miles next year while defensive back Paris Head has pledged to Vanderbilt. CJ Moore, a cornerback, is headed to Virginia. As for the members of the Score 44, linebacker Dillon Lee has toured Athens a few times but for now is committed to Alabama. Defensive End/Tight End Kurt Freitag has offers from Alabama as well as a few schools in Florida. Offensive lineman Vadal Alexander is viewed by some services as the top tackle in the state and one of the nation’s best. He has offers from a host of SEC West schools. Check these players out in the GPB.org game of the week this Friday… Tim Cokely of GAC has his Spartans up to No.3 and in a position to challenge for the Class AA state title. Cokely has won six state titles in Florida at North Florida Christian but has never won a state crown in Georgia. He previously coached at Colquitt County, compiling a 14-18 record in three years during the middle 2000s…Bryan County head softball coach Al Butler came away encouraged from his team’s performance at the recent Gordon Lee tournament, where the team won four of five games. Butler told the Savannah Morning News he believes his team is in a position to make a run at a third straight trip to the Elite Eight.
