Ringgold vs Heritage about more than just football

Friday nights in Georgia are special but some games are about more than just football. This Friday night on the GPB.org webcast, Ringgold will face Heritage in a game with playoff implications, but for the Ringgold community this game will have no losers. Our coverage will highlight and honor the recovery of Ringgold High School with the help of the entire community including “rival” Heritage High School. The Mayor of Ringgold will be a part of the special pre-game coverage, which begins at 7 P.M. on gpb.org/sports. We will also have Ringgold and Heritage school administers and first responders tell their stories. GPB’s Jon Nelson and Mark Harmon will provide stories about the initial damage and how eventually the school received an outpour of donations totaling nearly $250,000. GADA President Bob Stinchcomb will join us as well to talk about how athletic directors from around the state supported this Northwest Georgia community through donations and time.
