well that certainly wasn't any fun

The Georgia/Florida game. Would Florida get revenge for "The Gator Stomp" last season? Quite frankly I was sick of people talking about that and I was mad at the lazy national media for not digging deeper to get a real story entering this game. How about Tebow v Stafford? How about Knowshon's seemingly slacking performance this season? How about Can Richt finally get what Urban has? But no...it was gator stomp galore!
Listen, Florida just murdered UGA yesterday. And it had ZERO to do with last season's Gator Stomp. It had to do with UGA's inability to get points in the red zone. Second and two from the ten and KM24 checks out of the game: a sack and bad running call later Blair Walsh misses a field goal.
0-0 and Prince Miller intercepts a ball to end a Florida drive (kept alive by a poorly done review), BUT the play is called back because of a hands to the face. A play that seemingly gets no-called all of the time. Was that play deserving of a call...was the Stafford late hit REALLY a penalty either? Both of those IMO should have just been left alone. But whatever. Tebow and Florida scored a bit later and then the rout was pretty much on.
Why? Because Tripp Chandler couldn't catch a ball in the end zone when he was wide open. (Thanks for coming back so fast there Tripper!) Then Walsh doinks another FG attempt. CRAP.

In the second half, UGA's defense held and Georgia was driving down the field, down 14-3. KM24 checks out of the game for a play, so OF COURSE UF doesn't bite on the play-action to Caleb King and a pass intended for AJ Green is picked and taken back to the one yard line. 21-3. That was it.

I WAS really impressed with Stafford's arm and I know think he has NOTHING to prove by coming back next season. Don't get me wrong I WANT him back for 2009 (not so much with KM24. I think he has been saving himself for the NFL since he hurdled that one guy on CMU) but he could start RIGHT NOW for about 8 NFL teams. His arm is Zonetastic and I just can't see him sticking around. Joe Cox v Aaron Murray should be exciting next season as MAYBE the Dawgs can make a run at an SEC title...if Tebow and Harvin don't come back for Florida. UF is hands down the best team in the SEC right now (Sorry Bama, but it is a fact) and watching Texas Tech beat Texas last night, are you telling me that I will be watching Florida run up and down the field on Penn State in the BCSCG? Crap.

Lastly, I will NOT go off on a rant about the TIME OUTS at the end of the game, or the taunting that Florida did. They said UGA was classless last season for celebrating. I don't want to play that card. I just think that if what I saw yesterday and have seen all season is "Urban's Way," then I am glad Georgia is run "Richt's Way." I'd just like to see a few more victories though Richt. I am afraid that UGA will win the rest of its games, go to the Outback Bowl, where they will beat Minnesota, finish 11-2 in the top ten and Richt will try and call this season a success. Yes the team beat ASU in the desert and went TO the defending BCS champ's house and won, but it lost AT HOME to Bama is a huge game and lost to the ONE team it cannot afford to lose to in the SEC East. I call this season 1-2, which is NOT a success. Richt I fear is turning into the next Mack Brown, which MIGHT be fine, considering Texas is always a top 10 school, but it has become known as the one school that cannot win the big one. Brown does have a title, but that is ONLY because of Vince Young. Hey, Maybe that is what Aaron Murray will be for UGA.

Only time will tell.

Pretty unfortunate Tripp Chandler decided to play this week, He's always good for a drop.

Really sucks to be a consistantly
2nd tier team once again.
