Will Willingham get another gig?

People want to crow about the facts that, before this season, Charlie Weis was 22-15 after his first three years at Notre Dame while Ty Willingham was 21-15 in his three seasons. (And the Ty-lovahs will quickly point out that Weis was winning with Willingham's players. I also respond, then why couldn't Ty win with them?)

However now it appears that Ty is Donezo at U-Dub while Weis at least has ND back on track to respectability (and probably a BCS bowl even with a 7-5 record). I hate to point out that Notre Dame didn't fire Willingham to bring in Weis. They did it because they wanted to bring in Urban Meyer-and that was a done deal until the assistant's money issues came up. WOW, how different would everything be if Notre Dame had just ponied up? Hmmmm.

But back to my original question: Will Ty get another job after he gets canned at Washington? He was a strange hire at Notre Dame from his never-eye-popping stint at Stanford to his dismissal at ND to his craptastic time at U-Dub. At some point is he going to stop getting head coaching jobs? I realize that maybe he just wasn't the type of coach that did well in the spotlight of Notre Dame. Fine, so he went BACK to the Pac10, site of his "success" at Stanford, but at the better program, he just couldn't get it done there either. He might be a really nice guy, but at some point you just have to admit that he isn't head coach material, right? Kind of like how Mike Shula of Alabama wasn't head coach material, right? Like how Ted Roof wasn't a real head coach. Like how Coach O from Ole Miss wasn't. Same with Carl Torbrush. Mike O'Cain. Chuck Amato. John Bunting. You get the idea.

I just wonder, if Ty was white, would he be employed? Just wondering.....
