John Chavis will become the next DC at LSU. A missed opportunity if I've ever seen one for Georgia head coach Mark Richt. CMR has said repeatedly that Willie Martinez will be BACK in Athens next season as Defensive Coordinator. Fine. I never thought Willie should have been fired just one season after his defense ate Heisman winner Tim Tebow alive. He just didn't have the personnel to run with his scheme this year.
The bad part is that he didn't recognize this until it was too late and his D was shredded by Paul Johnson's triple option.
Perhaps someone should be brought in to help out Willie. Someone to bounce ideas off him, perhaps offer another way to attack an offense. I believe a co-coordinator would help out the UGA defense more than CMR and WM would know. That man COULD have been John Chavis, but I doubt he'd have gone for the "co" thing, especially with LSU and Klimpsen on the table. But how about a guy that knows the state of Georgia and has had some success around these parts.
The man I speak of is Jon Tenuta. I know, I know....TENUTA! Then man that was scorched by freshman QB Matt Stafford and first-time play caller Mike Bobo. The man was was gashed by frosh CJ Spiller. But this guy knows his blitzes. He is highly thought of by everyone in the biz and I am SURE he'd LOVE to get out of Notre Dame and back potentially kicking the butt of the guy that got "his job!" Plus, by coming on, even for one year, maybe he holds out for the UVA job aka his alma mater. Hey, if the Wahoos cannot get Tubs, Tenuta might be a pretty nice backup option.
Bottom line, the UGA defense needs some help and that help could come from Tenuta. Plus, how fun would it be to have Tenuta on our side? TENUTA!
(And while we're at it, I know I have written this previously, but CMR, bring Tubs onto the staff for ONE YEAR. Let him coach special teams, whatever. Just put him on the staff, if you guys REALLY ARE such great buds. He's gone in a year too, but with Tenuta and Tuberville on the staff....think of the recruits!)

Tenuta sucks. Why do you want him on the Dawgs's staff? So they can suck even more?
I guess you want Reggie Ball as your QB/counting coach too?
Maybe Ruben Houston as your team babysitter/drug dealer?
Maybe Tashard Choice as your nurse?
Maybe Calvin Johnson as your "how to disappear in big games" coach? Oh wait, you already have Mark Richt for that.
