Tubs QUIT? Yeah right. Awbarn is STOOPID

Auburn is just plains stupid (get it? Plains? They call themselves the Plainsmen. But they also say War Eagle and their mascot is a Tiger.) They fired Tommy Tuberville, then try to say he quit and as a parting gift the AD and prez have decided to give him $6m.
Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrright. You don't give someone that is quitting a $3M payment within 30 days and another $3M within 365 days of that. You just don't. When you quit, you walk away. No, when you FIRE someone you have to keep paying them the terms of the contract you are voiding. That's how those things WORK.
But seriously though, Auburn has ONE down year and they can a guy that has averaged 10 wins a year during his tenure with the Tigers.

I don't get that. This is a guy that went undefeated for you. He's a better coach than Bowden was, and probably better than Pat Dye was. Did Dye ever run the table in today's SEC? Didn't think so. This guy was 14-0 and Golf Digest's National Champions in 2004-05. (Yeah, they would have gotten smoked in that BCS game, so it is probably a good thing they DIDN'T play in it. Remember the SAME team got waxed by the SAME USC team just one year prior.)

This is also a coach that 103 colleges in America would probably fire its coach for. Think about it.
In the SEC, he would get a job at Miss State, SoCar, Tennessee, Kentucky (And he's a better coach than whomever replaces him at Auburn. He's better than Meyer-we've seen him beat Meyer TWICE. He's better than Les Miles. Better than Bobby Johnson. And don't think SoCar wouldn't end the Spurrier experiement for Tuberville. They SHOULD.)
In the ACC, he would get a job at Miami, Clemson, UVA, NCState, Duke, Maryland(and he's better than Jimbo, and Jadgozinski [sic]
In the Big East, he'd get a job EVERYWHERE except Cincy (and he's a better coach than Brian Kelly)
In the Big12, he's better than EVERY coach except Stoops and Brown
In the Big10 he's better than EVERY coach except Tressel, and I would guess he's better than Tressel at this point.
In the Pac10, he's better than EVERY coach except Carrol.

Kind of sad that Tuberville is in the top 10 coaches in the country and he just got pushed out of the door. Auburn, you thought 5-7 was bad, get ready for 3-9. I don't care WHO you bring in. Obvie Auburn had it in for Tuberville and this hiccup was what they felt was enough. I know he was a bit of a slimeball. Leveraging EVERY job for a raise would piss me off too. But You stood by him for so long. You should have called his bluff one of those times. Then he would have stopped. But the Auburn brass and boosters didn't like him so he is now gone.

Tubs probably got the better end of it too. He can sit out next year and count his money, then wait for a school to look at an unemployed Tuberville and its own coach struggling and make the move. MIAMI! UVA! CLEMSON! One of those three should axe its coach and bring in Tuberville. All three make sense. Tuberville worked at Miami once upon a time. Clemson is basically Auburn east. And UVA, he could OWN that conference from UVA. Sleeping giant up there.

Bottom line Auburn made a big booboo and they will live to regret this decision for years to come.

Now then.......on to the picks.
#1 Bama v #2 Florida. For some reason EVERYONE is jumping on the Florida bandwagon. Do you guys NOT remember the last time someone got physical with Florida? Ole Miss beat them. And Bama is OLE MISS on steroids. They will punch Florida in the mouth and I don't know how Florida responds. With no Harvin, that means Tebow will be 100%the focus of the offense. And just look back to the UGA/Florida game last season. Tebow doesn't like to be hit. When he is, he kind of shells up and gets antsy with the ball. And Bama has Nick Saban on the sidelines. He LIVES for games like these. Remember in 2001 when his LSU Tigers were doubledigit underdogs to Tennessee? Yeah. LSU won against a faster, more talented offense. SAME THING HERE. A bloody, sloppy 21-17 Bama win.

OU v Mizzou. Seriously, we have Oklahoma going to the national title game after Chase Daniel craps his pants YET AGAIN? great. Can we put OU in the north and texas in the south, so they can play in this game in the future? Thanks. But I bet Chase Daniels loves that he is BACK on Gameday. I wonder if he is bringing his OWN mic to be mic'ed up? OU wins one for Big Game Bob. Can we call Mizzou's coach Little Game Gary?

USC v UCLA. So the big hubbub was over USC wanting to wear its red unis "on the road" against UCLA, who would be wearing the home powder blue. USC was to lose a Time Out, but UCLA said they'd use a TO to even things up......who really cares? The bigger question is, how will Steve Scarkisian (spelling, Obvie) focus on this game and then the Rose Bowl while thinking about U-Dub? It hurt FSU when Mark Richt was thinking about UGA. Just saying....It won't matter in this game. USC puts up 70+ and then takes out the DeMarco Murray and Sam Bradford voodoo dolls to pray for an upset and some fuzzy math. Take the Men Of Troy!

BC v VaTech. A team GT beat v a team GT lost to. Hmmmmmmmmmm take the team GT lost to. VaTech wins, unfortunately, but I am SOOOOO rooting for BC, because I hate Tech. GO BC!

Army/Navy. Navy should win because Sailors are cool. I will always remember Keifer Southerland from A Few Good Men. "I love you Navy boys, whenever we've gotta go fight, you boys always give us a ride." That was a backhanded remark there and you saw the motivation it gave Tom Cruise! He won the case then went on to marry Katie Holmes in a scientology wedding! Advantage THE NAVY!

That's it. enjoy the football everybody!
