I am OUT of kleenex

I just finished watching the UGA/GT basketball game (a REAL snorefest between the worst team in the ACC v the worst team in the SEC). I believe my nose started gushing blood around 8:54. I think that is when UGA had just seen its 13 point second half lead drop to 2. Or maybe it was the backcourt violation by Zac Swansey while a guy with four fouls guarded him from about 6 feet away. Or maybe it was when Travis Leslie had a wide-open dunk to tie the game up with maybe :45 seconds left, but he took about 19 steps before he dunked. Or maybe it was when Jeremy Price or Chris Barnes (sorry I can't tell the two uncoordinated bigs apart. My bad) could two hand jam the ball in from about 3 feet away, instead getting blocked.
Or maybe it was 6 months ago when Dennis Felton COULD have taught his team how to BOX OUT on the defensive end, but instead he decided to kick 8 players off of the team. Yeah, he left five guys capable of just standing in the lane while watching two GT players miss three straight shots from point blank range before the FOURTH time being the charm.
Or MAYBE it was the final play that Felton drew up in the huddle, which wasn't a bad play, but apparently he told TWood that he only had .7 instead of 7.7 with which to shoot. (And PS TWood, if you had caught it and looked around, you would have found Trey Thompkins WIDE OPEN for the game-tying three.

Oh well. So much for my prediction that this team could make a run at .500 in conference and get into the big dance. Thank GOODNESS that Sports Illustrated has finally backed Sportsbyfletch in calling out that Dennis the Menace is in trouble. Thompkins looks good and Leslie could turn in to something, but they are both true freshmen. Shouldn't there be SOME sort of veteran leadership? Oh, wait, Felton kicked off all of the would-be seniors except for Walk-on Corey Butler (a 64% free throw shooter. IMO, walk-ons should be 90% at LEAST. If you just need a body, then get ME out there. I am AT LEAST 70%!), and TWood. AJax is still Michael Jenkins' long lost Hand Twin (remember Joey and the Vegas dealer from FRIENDS?), and could DUSTIN WARE couldn't play a little more? Really? Sub in for Swansey anytime? Maybe?

Felton, you could ALWAYS bring Mark Richt in for just a pep talk, couldn't you? FINISH THE DRILL! You've now had double digit second half leads in your last two games against major BCS conference teams, yet you've lost by 2+ possessions each time. Mizzou, now Georgia Tech. Those two games would have SERIOUSLY given you some MO entering conference play, but now you are backing in to a meatgrinder. UK (always dangerous, despite Billy Gillespie) Florida (they recently won TWO straight national titles!) Tennessee (POtY for the SEC), Vandy (With Ogilvy the Aussie) and SoCar (with the coach UGA could have had). Let's go to the West. LSU and Bama have good players, Miss State has a Hansborough, Ole Miss's coach could beat you up, Arkansas is sneaky good, and Auburn....well hey, UGA will get one SEC win!

Great, at least I can look forward to the UGA baseball team. PRESEASON #4 BABY!
