Mid-week entertainment report 1/14/09

Idol, Idol and more Idol, Derek Favors to choose (not UGA) and Liz to appear on A Shot at Love?

Ladies and Gentlement, the midweek entertainment report!

CLAPCLAPCLAP!

American Idol's 8th season kicked off last night and apparently 30.1M people watched...I was not one of them. I decided that I am not planning on watching until the REAL talent gets to Hollywood. I am sick of the losers on the show just going on the air to make a fool of themselves just to be on TV. I don't need that stuff. William Hung Jr., no thank you. And there is a new judge? Whatever. Call me when Hollywood week starts.

I saw where Jennifer Hudson, the fourth place finisher on Season 3 is scheduled to sing the national anthem for the Super Bowl this year. The Winner of that season just agreed to pay $10K so her house wouldn't get foreclosed. (I am sure some one had to read her the agreement!) Meanwhile the runnerup is eating her ass off at Zaxby's and probably working there before too long. I guess it is safe to safe that American got that one wrong! (Just like season 2 and 5! Oh well)

They say that everything's bigger in Texas, and apparently stolen! An Austin, TX strip club Palazio holders Stripper Idol, every Thursday night where the dancers get 60 seconds to dance to get applause in an attempt to win $500. Well American Idol is pissed. According to the AP story: In its lawsuit against Palazio, FremantleMedia calls "Stripper Idol" a trademark violation that could mislead the public to think the TV show sponsors the event, The Dallas Morning News reported in Tuesday editions.

Advertisements for the stripping contest use a logo with a "color scheme, design and font" similar to the TV show's. Waitresses at the club also wear T-shirts emblazoned with the logo, according to the lawsuit.

"Defendants are infringing upon FremantleMedia's trademark rights," the suit alleges. "There is a substantial likelihood that consumers will be confused, misled or deceived as to the sponsorship ... of the defendants' stripper talent contest."

REALLY? You REALLY think people are going to think that Stripper Idol is sponsored by American Idol? COME ON!

The #1 High School basketball player in the nation Derek Favors is scheduled to choose from three schools of where to play BBall next season (before leaving to go pro). The choices are down to NC State, GAyTech, and UGA. Odds are he will NOT pick UGA. WHY? Because Felton probably will NOT be there next season. Why would Favors pick a school where the coach he commits to won't be there. So I should get ready for disappointment. Regardless, I have decided to not shave until UGA A) wins another game or B) Fires Felton. Can't wait for Roomie's WEDDING!

Finally, in last night's Nip/Tuck, Christian Troy has sex with the supposedly lezbinen Liz. Hmmm, I thought she was gay AKA not into guys? I guess she is one of those lezbinens that really isn't because she will sleep with guys. Kind of like the lezbinens on A Double Shot at Love! Speaking of which, I only watched it on mute last night, because I am sort of over that show, especially when Nip/Tuck is also on. But the twins are really starting to bug me. They fight and are certainly white trashy, if you ask me. I don't think I'd WANT to win if I was on the. But that's just me. I think the twins might be on Stripper Idol in Austin before we know it!
