Glavine out until All-star Break

Just got off a conference call with Braves GM Frank Wren and injured Braves starter John Smoltz and Wren revealed that Glavine's MRI results showed a small tear at the origin of the flexor tendon, and while it is not a surgical repair, Glavine will resume pitching around the all-star break. Doctors said that the tear of his pitching elbow must "scar over." Glavine hurt the arm during his outing earlier this week against the Cubs. This is Glavine's second trip to the DL in his career, both have come this season.
Charlie Morton will be called up from Richmond to start this weekend against the Angels.
Injuries to the Braves starting pitching though haven't been the problem according to Wren, hitting has. "We're gonna have to play our way out of this," said Wren.

John Smoltz was also on the call. He noted that Dr. James Andrews was pleased and, "if he's pleased, I'm pleased." Now John says he has a "chance to recover to whatever level [he] desires. [He] will pursue an aggressive rehab."
The doctors seem to be very confident that the problem was fixed. There was "significant damage" to the shoulder, but it is fixed.
John said one thing about his rehab was flexibility. "My flexibility will enhance my ability to return, if I do come back. I've got targets (3-4-5 months) in mind, and I think I can still pitch."
John noted that doctors said he could golf in three months, throw a ball in four. He will rejoin the team when they get back from the road trip.
