The tell-tale LOB

Edgar Allen Poe wrote the tell-tale heart of the man that killed an old house guest and bury him under the floorboards of his house. Then when the cops came to question him, his heart/conscience drove him made and gave him up.
Well tonight, after notching a first inning three-run home run, the Tell-tale LOB came in the second, when Omar Infante tripled to start the second inning. Next man up, Greg White lines out. The heart beats a little louder. Then Tommy Glavine Ks. The beat grows louder. Then Yunel can't bring Omar in. The beat is deafening.

Even though the Braves still had the lead, the LOB sent the Braves into a "We've been HERE before" like tailspin and the Cubs soon had the lead. Tommy had to leave the game with an elbow injury and apparently he will miss at least his next start. This on the same day that Smoltzie was scheduled to undergo the knife. Wow.

The Braves got the score to within one at 6-5 in the eighth but a Greg White strikeout with two men on doomed the rally and the Cubs put up 4 insurance runs in the bottom half of the frame to ice the Braves, improve the Cubs' record home run and extend the suffering of the BRaves on the road.

They just stink. Braves manager MAY want to call Mark Richt to try and inspire his guys. Maybe after a homerun, ALL the Braves players should run out like the teams do in college for a big crowded headslapping at the plate. Couldn't hurt. might even light a match under them.

But if something doesn't change soon, EVHEI might get the boot before too long. EHHHHHHHHHHHHH! :(
