Well a nice two run rally in the ninth inning went by the wayside this afternoon in Arlington as Blaine Boyer took the loss in the Braves 5-4 defeat, the team's 22 straight loss in a one-run road decision. WOW. After the team again touched the Rangers' closer for a few runs, the Pride of Walton took the hill, after retiring 4 straight hitters and gave up a double to start the bottom of the ninth.
Then Bobby Cox went to the pen for Will OHMAN, and he threw one pitch and got one out.
Then with a righty Michael Young coming up, but two lefties after him, he went to RHP Jeff Bennett? Curious move. Well Young singled home the winning run and the Braves lost.
That's a shame. Charlie Morton gave another strong performance so he might be in the ATL for the long haul. This game was just one of those that the Braves should have lost, but because they cobbled together a ninth inning rally, it gave me hope. Good thing they crushed it in the bottom frame.
My biggest question....WHY IS BOYER STILL AROUND TO PITCH? Oh well.
Also, I feel bad for Jamie Lynn Spears' new baby girl. I did think it was funny that the father's occupation was reported in the AP article as a "pipe-layer" HA!
