Yawn, I am tired. YES I had to stay up until after the game was over, even after it was delayed an hour and one half because of rain.
The Braves though didn't miss a beat as they swept the "doubleheader" with the Mets last night with a 6-2 win.
Jorge Cam-Pee-OH, I was wrong, at least about this start. You went 6 strong with 7Ks, three hits and ZERO runs. Good work.
Boyer, way to end that scoreless streak by the bullpen.
But the troubling thing was the men left on base. It could have come back to hurt them, had Mark Kotsay not hit a BOMB in the bottom of the 8th inning (His favorite Christmas tune is Carol of the Dong!) to stretch the lead back to four runs at 6-2, after the Mets had gotten to within 4-2 just one inning after the Braves left the sacks full. The Braves MUST start picking those guys up. They are taking advantage of weak Mets' hitting right now, but you can't count on that forever.
That said, with a win tonight the BRaves take the 4 game series, and if they sweep, well Willie Randolph may not make it back to NYC. I would laugh.
I think the Mets DO need a voice to fire them up as they are too chillax right now.
Oh well, keep WR in there though if you are a Braves fan and watch them implode YET AGAIN.
The Braves just keep hanging around and it sounds like Mike Gonzo may be back soon, so that is positive. He threw three innings yesterday (41 pitches) 0 hits, 0 runs, 1 BB, 3 K. He is scheduled to throw back to back Friday and Saturday in extended spring training and then we could get a rehab start in Richmond and then The Bigs by maybe June 7...wifey's birthday. Happy Birthday Wife, you, as a Braves fan get Mike Gonzalez! YEA!
