Step right up and SWEEP the Mets!

Johan Santana is good, but Huddy is better. The two went toe-to-toe last night with Santana getting the better of Huddy thru the first 6 innings as the Mets ran out to a 2-1 lead thanks to two lousy pitches back to back to Carlos Beltran and Carlos Delgado in the second, though the Braves did get one back in the bottom half of that frame thanks to lil tex's headsup baserunning.

Fastforward to the seventh. Kelly Johnson's hustle double/Beltran fumbling the ball to allow KJ to slide into second safely set the stage for the Braves getting fired up! Santana may or may not have thrown at Huddy as he tried to bunt, but Huddy took offense and it seemed to fire up the bats. (And to those Mets apologists that say he wasn't, it is JOHAN FREAKING SANTANA. He has maybe the best control in the game. But why would he be throwing at Huddy? This is the national league Johan, you have to hit in this league. There ARE paybacks in this league.) KJ moved to third on a sacrifice then Omar Infante, previously 0-19 in his career off Johan slapped a clean hit to tie the game. Then Chipper came up with runners on first and third and he plated the go-ahead run and then lil tex gave the Bravos some Geico with another hit (good for him. he is finally turning it on. Wish he had been this way ALL SEASON!)
The Bullpen does its job and the Braves sweep the Mets.
I have said on EVH Extra Innings that Randolph may not make it off the plane back to New York and floated Buck Showalter (spelling?) but others have said Jerry Manuel. Whatever. a change is needed in New York if they want to contend this year.
But I also think some of the blame falls at the feet of "The Mixmaster" Omar Minaya. He will be allowed to make one change, but then HE is the one possibly getting canned. And Sports Illustrated called him a genius? Yeah an OPEN checkbook makes a LOT of people genii!

But the Braves, now 20-5 at home welcome in Arizona, best record in the national league and fresh off a sweep at the hands of the Marlins into the Ted. I say the Braves need to AT LEAST take two to call this series a success. And Brandon Webb sits right there MOnday, waiting for Atlanta. He is 9-1 on the year and the Braves will have their work cut out for them. But enjoy the sweep of the Mets, then get ready for the D-Backs. Division Crowns aren't won in May FLORIDA, but they ARE lost METS!

GO BRAVES!
