Frenchy delivers the Braves from evil

If Evil is translated as The Big Unit in English....

The Braves put up the good fight against Arizona today, getting a run off a hustle triple with Gregor Blanco and Yunel Escobar getting the first run off Big unit Randy Johnson and getting the winning runs off a Diamondbacks reliever in the 9th.

Jorge Campello continues to look good as a starter and is making me eat crow, grilled, broiled, boiled, grilled, baked, fried, scampi, filleted, soup.... as he made his second straight start a fantastic one, going 5+, and not allowing a run as a starter. He dropped his ERA even further than his .99 entering the contest. Jeff Bennett allowed the tying run, but nothing else and Chipper, in the bottom on the 9th got on via the single to the opposite field and he advanced on lil tex's ground-out. The announcers from Fox RAVED about Tex's "productive out", but I say, 12.8M and you are happy with a productive out? Gimme a break.

Thank goodness for Frenchy's walk-off HR. 3-1 your final. Braves win braves win!

If Glavine can give a winning performance Sunday against Micah Ownings, then maybe the Braves CAN get at least a split, which is what I wanted from this series going onto the road. Hopefully Tommy can school the youngster that has a little Babe Ruth in him with the hitting. Come on Bravos. Get this win and forge a tie in the series.

Chipper continues to impress, and though Dave Wright had a HR in the win against Colorado today for the Mets, Chipper had the more important hit and he SHOULD start the All-star game at third, but THIS is what happens when you give fans the vote.

Just saying.
